[snip] First, I'm not dead so no path should/can/will be named after me. Thanks though to all the kind words from folks that suggested it. You'll have to arrange for an accident if you want to pursue this idea further. [snip]

that wouldn't be an "accident"; that would be a "crash."

I agree that the current name is boooooring [ use your best Homer Simpson

have single name. Its too confusing otherwise:

I agree with both points: current name boring, & whole corridor needs consistent name: 1) current name boring - besides, if aiding navigation is the primary criterion for naming a path, then why did we end up with a path on the Isthmus that's called the Capital City State Trail (even though the path on the Isthmus existed long before the name)? If path users need navigational aids, they'd be better off with a city bicycle route map, or checking out one of the two dozen navigational aiding signs installed all around Madison's path network. 2) whole corridor should have one name - and, if the Badger Trail ever gets built, its name may end up superceding anything we call this path now. I'm not sure that's a good thing (see comments above), but at least the name would be consistent both both along the path and over time. Besides, if (re)naming the Path we've got now results in increased awareness of, demand for, and faster construction of the Badger State Trail, that would be a good thing.
