I suppose next they're going to tell us the UW (students, faculty, staff, visitors) doesn't plan to use the proposed new parking lot on State Street  that the City has decided to build.

Also, does the UW's promise not to increase parking for the 18 years apply also to the parking for all those heavily polluting motorized scooters on campus?   They should ban the use of those things entirely from the UW campus, which I've already suggested to him.

Mitch, I've copied an email below from Rob Kennedy, UW's transportation planner to me regarding my response to Mike N on this subject. Also, lest anyone think otherwise, the UW's current facilities planning is through 2025, so there are no plans beyond the 18 years hence to which Rob refers.

Chuck,

Wise words, indeed. Thanks for your response which is correct. We will
not create any net increase in parking for the next 3 phases of 18 years
total for the long range plan. Actually, now that I think of it, we
don't even have the space to put it even if this wasn't our policy.

Rob
