If you venture onto bike paths today, be careful.

I rode to work about 8:30 this morning, and everything was fine until I
turned onto the Southwest/Missing Link path at Randall Avenue. I rode a
few yards down the path, and then the bike slipped under me, and I landed
on my knee, which is still throbbing as I write. As I lay on the
pavement, I watched another biker, right behind me, fall.

The streets I rode on this morning were just fine -- wet but not slippery.
The bike path pavement looked like the streets -- until I examined it
closely -- but it was *not* fine.

By the time you read this, the ice on the bike paths may have melted, and
they may be perfectly bikeable. But I would advise caution.
