Public Hearings on Transportation Over the Next Six Weeks - Make your voice heard!

4-10-06 - Beginning this Thursday in Madison, the legislature's new "Road to the Future" committee will conduct a series of public hearings around the state over the next six weeks. The stated goal of these meetings is for the public to discuss the transportation needs in their areas in the coming years.

Please take to time to attend one of these meetings and let the legislature know that we need to prioritize real transportation choices over political favors and pork barrel projects. We have plenty of roads already, what we need instead are "Choices for the Future."

The hearings will all be held from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at these locations:

April 13th, Madison, State Capitol, Room 411 South.

April 18th, Eau Claire, Chippewa Valley Tech College, 620 W, Clairemont Avenue Auditorium, Room M-103.

May 9th, Neenah, City Council Chambers, 211 Walnut Street.

May 22nd UW-Platteville, Pioneer Student Center, on campus

May 24th, Milwaukee, Medical College of Wisconsin, 8701 Watertown Plank Road.

For more information about the hearings themselves, contact Senator Kapanke at (608) 266-5490 or Representative Gottlieb at (608) 267-2369.

I would add that what we need are "sustainable" choices, not just any old choices.

See you all there - come hell or high water!
