More on the films: Changing up our theme a bit, we've decided to run a series of "evil car" movies.  Our second installment will be this month's feature film, Christine, a John Carpenter film based on a Stephen King novel.  Highschool geek Arnie Cunningham falls in love with "Christine", a bright red 1958 Plymouth Fury which has seen much better days. Setting himself the task of restoring the car to its original condition, his friends notice that the car is not the only thing that is changing. Arnie seems to spend more and more time with his car. He's also developed a sort of cocky arrogance which does not seem like the real Arnie at all.  Any bike commuter knows that people change when they get behind the wheel of a car, but this film takes the transformation to new heights (or depths...).  For more, check out http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0085333/

And if that's not weird enough for you, there will also be the usual pre-feature strangeness.  Each month we scavenge the universe of short films about biking to bring you psychedelic '60s bike safety films, animated biking shorts (not the padded kind), NYC bike courier races filmed with helmet-cams... the strange world of bike culture on the big screen.

What's this all about, anyway?: OK, so winter is really over now and we can all get out on our bikes again.  But we had so much fun doing this over the winter that we thought we'd just keep running films until you all stop showing up.
