I don't know when they built the powerlines along the SouthWest Path, but
I think they're pretty old; I've lived nearby for 20 years, and I walked
my dog along the railroad tracks for many years, and the powerline was
always there, and it always looked like it had been in place for a long
time.
But I don't think the line along the path is really high voltage (though I
have to admit I don't know for sure), so it's not as incompatible with a
bike path as the ATC line would be.

But anyway... I think Jeff is talking about the new line along the
Beltline that MG&E built, and put underground, a few years ago.  Some of
this powerline runs underground near a section of the SW Path, and another
stretch is buried underneath a new path that MG&E built when it built the
underground powerline.
