I thought I’d make the Ghost Bikers campaign more
personal by describing the crashes that killed area cyclists in the last 10
years. I did not include the tragic
crash involving Jessica Bulen because readers are familiar with the
details.
June 9, 2005 2p.m 32 year Theresa Kaczynski was killed
while riding on the sidewalk on Milwaukee St. Motorist stopped at stop sign, looked
but did not see cyclist approaching from his right and proceeded. Cyclist, who was intoxicated, rode in
front of truck.
June 1 2004
12:42 p.m. 10 year old
Autumn Daley got hit crossing County CV in the town of Windsor while riding with
her sister. View was blocked by a
hill, high grass and a retaining wall.
October 26, 2004 8:20 p.m. Arthur Fromm, 53 year old
cyclist who was intoxicated, went through a stop sign on Union St and was killed
by a motorist outbound on E Washington.
June 5, 2002
7 p.m. 14 year old Rosalinda Solis was killed crossing E Washington at
Marquette St.
August 7, 2002 11 a.m. 53 year old Martin Kammer hit a
curb and landed in front of truck on Rimrock and the
Beltline.
September 24, 2000 12:30 a.m. 49 year old David Wilson
killed crossing E. Washington at Oak St.
Cyclist was intoxicated
