There will be a meeting in conjunction with the Pro Bike/Walk conference in Madison this fall that addresses the points raised in this discussion.
" On Tuesday September 5th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the National Center for Bicycling and Walking, is offering the Traffic Justice Institute. (registration is $75) With this meeting as a launch point, we plan to mount a campaign to redefine our societal perspective on motor vehicle crashes, and substantially reduce their occurrence. We will come at this goal from every possible angle, including transforming public discourse about road safety, holding drivers accountable for their actions, changing highway design to better limit motor vehicle speeds, enabling the full use of enforcement technology, and curtailing the use of distracting electronic devices. " Sounds pretty ambitious! For more information you can go to www.bikewalk.org/conference.. Go to the column under the Monona Terrace image and scroll down to Traffic Justice institute where you can find out more. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Robbie Webber Sent: Friday, July 07, 2006 1:57 PM To: Doug Adler Cc: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Bikies] RE: Hung jury and Cap Times editorial Thank you Doug, that is exactly what I meant. I realize the jury system is the backbone of our legal system, but it is also a reflection of what "your peers" think is right and wrong. The fact that the DA might not be able to get a conviction, given the evidence, is very sad.
