Why can't the UW just ban the use of individual motorized transports (scooters, Segways, golf carts, etc.) on campus? Students, faculty and staff already have the alternatives to use bicycles, to walk (or use wheelchairs) or to ride the bus.
With global warming becoming an issue of paramount importance to everyone, the UW ought start taking a leadership role on the problem of global climate change, including elimination of all unnecessary fuel burning on campus.

RE: Golf Carts on Trails (KENNEDY, Robert)
By the way, this is a reminder, Robbie, that it would be good for the City and University to work together with WisDOT to propose "best practices" statues and administrative rules etc. in the Governor's budget soon on mopeds/scooters, Segways, and other individual motorized transports. This is an issue in most states, increasingly as industry lobbyists slip things into our law books. Rob Kennedy
