FYI for anyone interested in this project - - Arthur You are invited to attend a Public Informational Meeting for the replacement of the Buckeye RoadICty AB bridge over IH 3911H 90 in the City of Madison. The project extends from the South Thompson Drive intersection located approximately 500 feet west of the bridge, to the King's Mill Way intersection located approximately 600 feet east of the bridge. The meeting is scheduled as follows:
Date: Wednesday, October 11, 2006 Time: 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Place: Madison Police Dept. E. Precinct Building, 809 S. Thompson Road, Madison, WI The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) has retained the engineering services of Ayres Associates to prepare plans and specifications for the replacement of this bridge and reconstruction of its approaches. The purpose of this meeting is to present design details, discuss the project schedule, and gather public input. The meeting will be held in an open house format and project exhibits will be on display for review. WisDOT, Ayres Associates, and City of Madison staff will be available to answer questions and address comments. No formal presentation is planned. WisDOT plans to replace the existing bridge with a new two-lane bridge that will accommodate bicycles and pedestrians. The roadway approaches will be reconstructed and will include curb and gutter, bike lanes, and sidewalk. The project is currently planned for construction in 2008. During construction of the new bridge, Buckeye Road will be closed and a detour route will be used. The police station is located just off Cottage Grove Road west of Interstate 39. Cottage Grove Road is currently closed due to the replacement of the bridge over the interstate; therefore access to the meeting site can only be made from Cottage Grove Road west of the interstate.
