And now, for something completely different.

Below is a message that came into my box from Oregon, where there has been severe flooding. it includes a link to a video you will want to see. Below that is a reply.

I don't know if anyone's got a good policy on this, but in your jurisdiction, are salmon allowed:

 (a) in bike lanes?
 (b) in contra flow lanes?
 (c) only when spawning?
 (d) yes, but only on segways?

Watch the video:

And are they required to wear helmets only when juveniles, or at all times?

Just asking.

If I might suggest...

1, we have not heard from the Salmon Coalition for Equal Rights on this, so I would suggest that we need to make a plan to sit down and meet with them over this issue.

a. Said plan should include all options, like:

1. setting up a guard rail to keep the fish (do they mind being generalized like that?) from being run over by a careless cyclist.
2. Signs to make people aware that fish may be in the lane
3. Salmon Safety courses to increase their awareness and their safety practices in order to make each fish as safe as possible. 4. Not sure about this, but I am thinking that they would be absolutely in favor of Salmon signs that would steer them away from the Sushi districts.. Maybe we can bring that up at the meeting...

As far as previous policies on this, I have no suggestions.. Perhaps we will have to re-invent the wheel??
