Dear group and Steve Drake,

I would expect that few bicyclists have the "luxury" to avoid the
automobile in their lives. And also few are certain that a protest against
their use will gain ground for alternatives. Then why as a matter of self
interest should they go out of their way to "poke a stick" in the eyes of
those considering new cars? As cyclists--do we want to simply aggravate
motorists into driving with disregard and dislike for the unprotected
bicyclist? As one who has been "purposefully buzzed" and nearly run off
the road, I see no reason to make matters worse. Their actions got what
they seemed to crave--mention in the Tribune so that now many more than
were there at McCormick Place "could be aggravated at bicyclists!"
