I have been hearing about this on WPR this weekend, but I cant find it online. The story is this: Governor Doyle wants to tax the oil companies and use the money to pay for more roads. He is set to formally announce his plan in a speech this week.
Remember, it was impossible for the BFW to get TE funding increased by something on the order of $10mil. Well, this oil co. tax is supposed to bring in $150mil. I say it would be only fair to earmark 10% of that amount for additional funding for bicycling infrastructure.
