I don't disagree that there are hypocritical opinions against restrictions on
electronic gadgets
in motor vehicles and we have a long way to go. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
says music players
are worse than cell phones (then later claims there are no good data on this
subject). Anyway,
the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel editorial board has the responsiblity to use
other sources than an
automobile lobbying organization (AAA) and the DOT on this. Sigh. And they
are twenty years
behind the times still using the biased term "accident" when the neutral
"crash" is more
appropriate. It is no accident when someone causes property or bodily harm due
to inattentive
driving while yacking on the phone (or adjusting their iPod). As point of
fact, if a driver is
cited for inattentive driving, then the crash that driver has caused is neither
accident nor
crash. It is a crime. Is there another motorvehicle-flavored word that
describes criminal
vehicle crashes - like "accident" is to random chance but only in reverse?
