I am new to this listing but understand that the goal of this bikies list is to
generate discussion and promote ideas that will advance bicycling safety
through laws, education, and public awareness. When someone suggests an idea
such as diverting Governor Doyle's tax to alternative transportation, this is
not such a far out idea given the impact cars have on the environment. I agree
with George and Darryl that the excessive sarcasm given by Eric was over the
top but also think this should generate some productive conversation about how
we can work together to write letters to the Governor, have some healthy
devil's advocacy in a less abrasive manner about the reality of the situation
and whether it would work. I am continually impressed by the fact that George
not only speaks his opinion but also takes action to attempt to benefit the
cause.
