The comments of GHC aside...
Last winter, I believe, Chuck Strawser and I had a meeting with DNR and Dane
County Parks to discuss plowing of the Capital City Trail. For those of you
following the drama...a mystery stealth plower (with flames painted on his
truck) had been plowing the trail without permission and had actually been
asked to cease and desist. Chuck and I went to the powers that be asking that
the mystery plower be allowed to plow...he was offering to do so for
free...especially since said person is already an approved contractor with
liability insurance, etc for the County. The DNR/County contention was that
the path could not be maintained safely in the winter due to various
physical/engineering issues (hmmm...design problems?...). Anyway...the subject
got dropped and never went any further.
Here we are another winter along...
