Come on, Tim. FerGawd'sSake, they do have a bike trail nearby, what more do
you want (and isn't it true that just any bike trail will do)?? If they had
the clinic in Stoughton, but there was a bikeway near the clinic, it would be
okay for it to be the default location for all Dane County members, too, right?
I think the car-equivalent response from "member services" would be that if
there's a paved road going there, it's accessible, that distance/location is
not important.
"Your policy specifies coverage located in Milwaukee, but there are paved roads
near the clinic there, so you can drive 70 miles each way and it shouldn't be a
problem for anyone."
Sheeesh!
I had a horrible situation with Group Death some years ago that led me to
switch medical plans when I had the opportunity (unfortunately, the timing of
the injury and discovery of the faulty diagnosis was such I had just missed the
open enrollment period and had to go almost a full additional year without
treatment because they denied my referral request elsewhere, leaving me with
the rather limited options of either doing nothing or taking my chances with a
UW-H surgeon who raised far too many suspicions when I visited him (and I soon
afterward learned from multiple sources that he had a horrible reputation and
my instinct to run away as quickly as I could was quite well-founded).
BTW, this is what I see on the GHC website:
Clinic Locations
GHC Clinics
Capitol Clinic located downtown Madison
DeForest Clinic located in northeast Dane County
East Clinic located in Madison's northeast side
...technically, I think this may still officially be in Madison, although it
may as well be Sun Prairie, it's so far out.
Hatchery Hill Clinic located in Madison's westside
...but this is blatantly false. It's on the southside, not the westside, and
it's in Fitchburg, NOT in Madison at all.
Physical Therapy located in Madison's Princeton Club West.
Sauk Trails Clinic located in Madison's west side
Additional Dane County Clinics
UW Family Practice Clinics
UW Health - University Community Clinic Network
Now go have a beer,
