Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin Announces New Executive Director

(Madison, WI) °© The Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin has hired Jack Hirt as its new Executive Director. Jack Hirt has worked with the Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin (BFW) as its Program Manager, and will move into the Executive Director role immediately.

The Board of Directors is excited to see Jack Hirt move into this new role. "Jack has worked tirelessly for the BFW, increasing our contacts, our client base, and our visibility throughout the state," stated Edith Merila, BFW Board President. "We are delighted to have Jack in our Executive Director position. He will be a great asset as staff, our Board of Directors and advocates across the state all work to make Wisconsin a better place to bike."

"I am eager to hit the ground running in this new position," said Hirt. "There are great opportunities for us to increase support for cycling and expand bicycling accommodations across the state."

The BFW Board of Directors is committed to working with staff, community advocates and industry leaders in growing the organization and bicycling in the state. "I am excited to work with the BFW Board," said Hirt. "They have expressed their commitment to support me as I take on this new role at the BFW, and they are committed to being more closely involved with staff efforts to make Wisconsin a better place to bike."

The BFW will maintain both its Madison and Milwaukee office, with Executive Director Jack Hirt based out of the Milwaukee office.

The Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin is a membership-based non-profit organization, that works to make Wisconsin a better place to bicycle through education, advocacy and coordination of bicycle interests.
