Below is the message I sent to CapTimes columnist Mike Ivey, regarding his recent column ( http://www.madison.com/tct/business/134353 ).
-- Dear Mike, Like my good friend Mr. Barrett, I was annoyed to read in your article: "Moreover, bad feelings had brewed between the Bike Fed and officials at the Department of Transportation, who felt they were being unfairly blamed for putting highways ahead of bike routes." This seems to contradict a previous article in your own paper (from Oct 10, 2006): "BIKE TRAIL WON'T GET PAVED FOR 2 YEARS, BUDGET CUTS HAMPER 6-MILE STRETCH" http://www.madison.com/tct/archives/index.php?archAction=arch_read&a_from=search&a_file=%2Ftct%2F2006%2F10%2F10%2F0610100261.php&var_search=Search&keyword_field=badger%20trail&pub_code_field=tct&from_date_field=&to_date_field=&var_start_pos=0&var_articles_per_page=10 which indicated that it was the failure of the State legislature to provide funding for the Badger trail, as well as other projects. I believe you owe your readers (and the staff of Bike Fed) an explanation, if not an apology. p,s. I am cc'ing State Rep. Spencer Black and Fitchburg Alder Steve Arnold, who were both quoted in the above article. -- ===== darin _______________________________________________ Bikies mailing list [email protected] http://www.danenet.org/mailman/listinfo/bikies
