Trying out different bike seats might eventually
afford him with an option which is less uncomfortable
than others, but this hardly seems a solution to the
actual problem at hand. I do advanced fittings at the
shop where I'm employed and when a client comes in
seeking adjustments or product selection advice to
address pain or discomfort which is likely to be
associated with an injury for which they have not yet
sought a medical opinion, I am unable to work with
them and encourage them to first consult a physician.
I get the impression that the person for whom you are
seeking advice has not yet seen a physician. If he's
chosen not to do so simply because he expects the
injury is minor and the discomfort will pass, my next
best advice would be that he should stop riding until
he feels better. Time off the bike may actually help
the area heal faster.
