Unfortunately, they're only interested in driving solo to Madison to work
everyday, rather than taking transit. That's what the Sun Prairie
council vote shows more than anything.

High property taxes got you down?
Scared of being abducted?
Pesky urban density bug you?

Move to Middleton, Wisconsin! It's the best place in the country to live
(http://finance.yahoo.com/real-estate/article/103225/Best-Places-to-Live.
..even though many of the amenities mentioned in the article are actually
Madison's).

This on the heels of Sun Prairie voting not to support the new RTA
(http://www.thewheelerreport.com/releases/July07/july11/0711bruhnrta.pdf)
. Mike's concerns about an RTA paying for road maintenance duly
noted...it is hard not to think that commuters from Sun Prairie aren't a
major reason why Dane County might need an RTA in the first place.

Apparently, everyone wants to benefit from being near Madison and driving
into Madison to work and clogging up the Isthmus with cars...but no one
wants to pay for the services in Madison that they use on a daily basis.

Incidentally, here is the US Census Journey to Work data for 2000 for Sun
Prairie for workers age 16+ (yes...I am a wonky geek who used to be a
regional rep for the Census Bureau):
