Dear Martin Lund, That does sum it up. Just like I cannot do much more about an occassional sideswipe or near mis on my country roads, accidental or deliberate than I can do to avoid the very real problem of chasing farm dogs, the diminutive bicyclist or runner will just have to cope as they might.
