Law Enforcement from several local jurisdictions, including the Dane County
Sheriff, were involved in development of the existing tv PSAs...but have not
offered any money up to air them.

My main point was...funding the ads has been recommended by a committee that
may have funding available. I think, therefore, the ads will be funded, though
perhaps not until next summer. Can't say for sure...but seems likely. The
cost to run the ads on TV for three months would be about $2,500, by the way.
At one time Bike Fed had proposed footing that bill...but the check never got
written and now it is a new day. I don't think that BFW has the money to pay
for it any longer.

There are some great radio psas that a friend of mine read for a Massachusetts
radio station a few years ago...looks like they've been taken down from the web
tho.

shouldn't have to foot the bill for this. If the Sheriff is willing to
spend taxpayer dollars to tell people to watch out for motorcycles, they
should be made to do the same for us. And I'd start with radio; it's
cheaper, and people listen to the radio in the morning before they leave
(in their cars) for work (best time to get them to think about this).

Subject: [Bikies] PSAs for motorists

There are two public service announcements aimed at motorists regarding
bikes that are in the can and ready to go and just awaiting funding to be
aired. SCC and BFW did them last year. The Platinum Committee has
recommended funding those ads.
