I recently had occasion to look this law up after a run in with a state van pool driver. Here's a reference to the law from the driver's handbook: From: http://www.dot.wisconsin.gov/drivers/docs/e-handbook.pdf "Vehicles- Interacting with Bicycles BICYCLISTS ARE LEGAL USERS OF THE ROAD. AS SUCH, THEY ARE ENTITLED TO THE FULL USE OF A TRAVEL LANE, ALTHOUGH A BICYCLIST MAY CHOOSE TO USE THE SHOULDER. WHEN PASSING A BICYCLE, ALLOW A MINIMUM OF THREE FEET OF SPACE BETWEEN YOUR VEHICLE AND THE BICYCLE. AVOID TURNING ACROSS THE PATH OF A BICYCLIST. MOST CRASHES INVOLVING A MOTOR VEHICLE AND AN ADULT BICYCLIST HAPPEN WHEN A MOTORIST IS TURNING LEFT." -- Steve _______________________________________________ Bikies mailing list [email protected] http://www.danenet.org/mailman/listinfo/bikies
