This is an idea about what to do about the Cherokee crash. I like it. I believe we have an active SRTS group here in Madison, maybe under the umbrella of the Safe Communities Coalition? Can we pursue a meeting with Mayor Dave and both or one paper's editorial board? Anyone want to help out on this? I am willing to lead the charge or work behind the scenes. Ann M. Freiwald, ASLA

It would also be good to get letters to the editor. ______________________ Deb Hubsmith Director Safe Routes to School National Partnership ______________________ 415/454-7430 [EMAIL PROTECTED] <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> http://www.saferoutespartnership.org <BLOCKED::http://www.saferoutespartnership.org> PO Box 663 * Fairfax, CA * 94978 Don't miss the 1st Safe Routes to School National Conference: Creating, Building and Sustaining Momentum, November 5-7-2007. But the first few comments crying about the poor driver was not a good start. Take care. Ann M. I hope that the community will be able to mobilize proactively to get the city to make changes that will support better safety. Several communities have been able to take tragedies like this and make something positive happen for the long run for SRTS. Wishing you the best of luck, and my sympathies to the family and the community.
