From: Richard Schwinn <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
In the next day or so I will offer my comments on the situation with board
communication and Dar.
Richard:
I'll save you a phone call.
I am not in ANY WAY associated with the current write-in campaign other than
the fact that I have forwarded the link to the website to people that I know
who are BFW members. I did that, not as an endorsement, but so that a free
exchange of information was occurring amongst people that I know to care about
the organization (many of whom have felt shut out of information from BFW this
year). To that end, I have also made an effort to provide information about
BFW's past when it has been requested in this forum and others (all of which is
public information). As I have said, I am not endorsing ANY candidate in the
election.
Also, despite what has been said by some, I can pretty much assure everyone
that this is not about Pam Barrett (or anyone else) defending my personal honor
or vindicating my termination. I think that many people have concerns about
the process of my termination...as well as the process of a host of other
things that have happened at the organization in recent history.
I continue to be an active bicycle advocate and a professional transportation
planner and, as such, I would like to see BFW move forward and be as effective
as possible. There are obviously concerns by some of the membership that need
to be addressed, however.
Richard, if you want to talk to someone...I recommend you talk to the people
involved in the write-in campaign and/or BFW board and staff.
