Dear Matt Logan and group,

Possibly being a member of WTBA would lead nowhere. But I wouldn't
write that off just for now at the talking stage. Why wouldn't their
members also make money making and improving bike trails and
infrastructure? How can bike trails compete with standard roadway
improvements except by increasing earmarked funds. Why wouldn't their
lobby be more effective than BFW for increasing the entire pie? As far
as I see and hear from our group, WTBA is well funded and professional
in getting their "obscene" way with the political process. If that is
the case wouldn't they be better than or at least adjunct to the BFW's
efforts. It would seem that for $500. or less for membership as a
consultant member, BFW could attend their meetings and get a member on
their board and swing weight with their BFW list of members and donors.
$500. or less out of a BFW budget of $350,000 plus or minus is something
which should be discussed. Instead, the WTBA is simply sloughed off in
hand "as the enemy?" And maybe their could be coalitions with other
groups and interests in "the transportation lobby?"

Eric
