THE BACKGROUND: --------------- There is a proposed amendment to the City of Madison 2008 Capital Budget that would remove funding for "improvements" to CTH M. Not only do these projects have the potential to increase sprawl on the Westside, but it is also unfair for Madison to foot the whole bill for "improvements" to a county road. The specific proposal to cut funding for CTH M improvements is Amendment No. 6 found at the link below: http://www.cityofmadison.com/council/documents/Am_CC_Proposed_Cap_2008.p df This proposal will save the city about $20 million dollars in borrowing. WHAT YOU CAN DO: ---------------- You can help pass this amendment to remove funding for CTH M "improvements" from the budget by contacting alders and/or speaking and the public hearing tonight. Contact all alders by sending an e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To testify in person come to room 201 of the City-County Building. Fill out a sheet that you want to testify. It could be a long night, but public testimony will be VERY important. The special meeting on the budget begins at 6:30pm.
