Would it be better if we could stage a similar picture
here in Dane County and send it around to all the
politicos and opinion makers?
Have comparison pictures of cars, busses, street cars,
and bicycles.
Find a high vantage point near a local landmark such
as the parking ramp on Dayton and Carroll Streets with
the capitol in back. Otherwise another street with a
cherry picker platform could do.
Or, another possibility Is a before and after shot of
a shopping center parking lot full of cars (now is a
good time of year) and after shot of the same number
of cycles parked in the same lot with the same view.
An alternative is a parking ramp.
Just a suggestion

This is a GREAT poster - a picture is indeed worth
a thousand words. Unfortunately it relies on
Bush-league facts distortion when it doesn'tneed to.
Here is what it looks like if you scale all the
imagesroughly the same. (you may have to open the
attached file(TransportationSpace2.JPG), my mail
doesn't always put the photos in).
Every bit as impressive without resorting to the kind
of trickery thatundermines the message. Maybe someone
who knows German could get theoriginal source to
produce a high quality non-cheating version.

FellowFitchburgers (and others),
Hansforwarded this visual comparison oftransportation
options. In my book, this picture is worth well
over1,000words. Could we get copies to hang in the
Fitchburg City Hall to givepeople a better sense of
why mass transit and bike paths are important?

Comparableimages for per-capita impacts "on the way"
would be even moredramatic.
Canyou imagine our municipal leaders having the
backbone to undertakeeducation ofthis nature?
