I would also like to add that, as a bicyclist, I am able and willing to ride at pedestrian speeds, behind a pedestrian, or slower bicyclist, until there is a safe chance to pass. However, if the pedestrian is coming at me on the same side, we will eventually meet, and then one or both of us will be standing still and/or trying to figure out which way to step/swerve.
I have also seen runners pass children on bikes or other slow bicyclists. Should they then run on the left? What about roller bladers? Stay right. Pass with care, after giving a verbal warning, when it is safe to do so. Everyone follows the same rules. Thank you for your help in this matter.
