Does anyone know if the BTA comments to the committee on snow removal were
incorporated into the final report? They specifically addressed the problem of
windrows which, true to form, confronted anyone trying to use the bike path
(east rail one, at least) today. We should have included an additional
suggestion to have the person in charge of plowing the paths to talk to a
bicyclist to see how a bicyclist uses the path--for instance, most bicyclists
cross at the sidewalk crossing at Atwood and Dunning, not via the street.

"One day of the war costs $720 million, or the equivalent of 34,904 four-year
college scholarships, 12,478 teachers' salaries, 95,364 Head Start placements,
or 6,482 new homes," according to the American Friends Service Committee,
quoted in 10/15/07 Nation.

Cost of U.S. War and Occupation of Iraq
