I just got this notice. Word is that the State Trails Council is supposed to
add more motor sport representatives...so it is important for bicyclists and
other silent sport types to get more involved.

Greetings:
The next meeting of the Governors State Trails Council will be held Monday,
January 7, 2008 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. The meeting will be held via
teleconference. Any interested parties that are not members of the Council may
attend the meeting by coming to Room 613 of the Department of Natural
Resources' Central Office, located in the GEF 2 building at 101 South Webster
Street in Madison. A map of the meeting location is provided on the bottom of
this page.
The State Trails Council (STC) is appointed by the Governor under the
authority of statute 15.347(16) to provide state trail user groups and
individuals a voice in the statewide trails program. The STC also provides a
forum for dealing with solutions to conflicts between and within trail user
groups and trail providers. Additionally, the STC provides advice and
consultation to the Department of Natural Resources regarding the planning,
acquisition, development, and management of trails in Wisconsin.
Agenda items will include Invasive Species, NHAL ATV Trail Proposal update,
Trail Crew, Trail Pass Survey, AB600 Increasing STC Membership, Managed
Forest Lands Law and other trails issues. A draft agenda for the upcoming
meeting will be mailed out to Council Members and to those who request it. The
draft agenda and additional information about the STC is available online:

Please send correspondence regarding this January 2008 State Trails Council
meeting to Joseph Warren. Please let me know by Monday, December 31, 2007 if
