I was alerted to a bill that is making its way through our state
legislature that might be of interest to bikies.
I contacted my state Rep, Spencer Black, and he said
"This bill would allow an employer to offer financial incentives to
encourage use of a lawful product. This might allow an employer to reward
bicycle commuting or other healthful pursuits. As a bike commuter myself,
I favor incentives for bike commuting including this bill.
AB 258 passed the Assembly and is now awaiting action in the Senate."

I think the primary goal is aimed at smoking-cessation.
But if this passes, I might be able to convince my employer to chip in for my
next bike! I guess its time to get in touch my state Senator.
