This is our one big chance to really set the county on a good course,
or, pave it over. Last month's big public hearing was a big success,
but more citizen comment is needed!

Please consider sending an email message to the Capital Area Regional
Planning Commission a message that says something like this:
"I support strong, strict criteria for the CARPC, to protect Dane
County's farmland and groundwater from poorly planned development. I
especially support criteria to: prioritize infill and redevelopment;
eliminate the flexibility factors; and protect farmland,
environmentally sensitive areas and critical groundwater recharge
areas. But before they can begin to review new development proposals,
the CARPC must fulfill its mandate to update the Dane County Water
Quality Plan to include areas of the highest environmental
sensitivity and growth pressure."

hear this since he has come out in favor of the sprawl version of the
regional plan, so cc him too: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Most of our alders have already written a letter of support for the
strong anti-sprawl measures. Many thanks are owed to Alds. Marsha
Rummel, Satya Rhodes-Conway, Mike Verveer, Brenda Konkel, Robbie
Webber and Tim Gruber.
Two of the mayor's three CARPC appointees, Alds Larry Palm
([EMAIL PROTECTED]) and Zach Brandon
([EMAIL PROTECTED]) have already gone on record as opposing
the smart growth measures. So email them too!
The comment needs to be received by Thursday, Feb 6, 2008 midnight.
