This position will focus on TDM (Transportation Demand Management)
issues...that is...getting people to take other modes to campus besides a
single-occupancy vehicle (bike, bus, walk, carpool, vanpool, Community Car,
etc). It is a state classified job on the Madison campus, with good benefits.

HIRING ORGANIZATION: Under the general supervision of the Transportation
Demand Management SAFE program supervisor, this position develops, implements
and evaluates marketing, promotional and outreach programs which promote the
awareness and use of TDM and other Transportation Services programs. This
position develops annual marketing plans, compiles and applies marketing data,
develops advertising and public service announcements, develops promotional
items, activities, events and publications to increase awareness of TDM and
other Transportation Services programs. Innovative, state-of-the-practice
approaches to marketing and outreach will be emphasized by this position.
SALARY: Starting annual salary is between $33,581 and $53,841, depending on
qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A six-month probationary period is
required. This position is included in Pay Schedule 07, Range 04.

JOB DUTIES: This position is responsible for developing, planning, budgeting,
and scheduling campaigns, events, and programs which promote transportation
alternatives for UW Madison employees. Using strategic marketing research and
analysis techniques and survey tools, the individual will develop promotional
items, including activities and publications, to increase awareness of TDM
programs. Graphic design/production processes will also be utilized to
accomplish objectives. Position will also coordinate promotional and outreach

SPECIAL QULAIFICATIONS: This position requires a conviction record check.
Due to the nature of the position, applicants will be asked to furnish a

well-qualified candidate will have four or more years of experience in
marketing, business communications, or public relations.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: Experience with market research techniques and
coordination; strong analytical skills to interpret and disseminate results.
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills.
Demonstrated proficiency in graphic design and print management.
Demonstrated communications and interpersonal skills and success in working in
a team setting. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Access and Publisher software. Strong sense of priority and time management.
