Dear Commission Members of the CARPC:

You have been given the charge of protecting our water.

Now it is time to step up, show some leadership and actually *do* something about it.

As a citizen, taxpayer, property owner and business owner in Dane County, I expect nothing less.

End the sprawl: Eliminate the "flexibility factor." Sprawl and all the pavement that goes along with it disrupts the hydrologic cycle. Without adequate recharge of our aquifers, water supplies will be dangerously drawn down and increasingly filthy (à la Waukesha, the Fox Cities, etc.).

Protect our farmland and open spaces from rapacious low-density development: Keep the "Farmland Mitigation" elements.

The current Water Quality Plan is not adequate: Strengthen it!--Before any further urban service area extensions are approved.

We demand a better quality of life in Dane County. Don't turn us into Waukesha.

Sincerely,
Michael D. Barrett and Pamela S. Barrett
