I guess that could explain why he didn't have any traffic violations
during the time his license was suspended!

Back of the envelope calculations: If we assume he didn't drive during
his suspension, he had 2 traffic stops (one in Waukesha, one in Columbia
county) between 9/2007 and 1/2008. That works out to one stop every two
months, or 6/year if he keeps it up.  So far, he has been assessed 4
demerit points for speeding in Columbia county, or 1 point per month on
average.  So if these trends continue, we can expect that sometime
around September of 2008 Sorum will have earned enough demerit points to
get another suspension, minimum of two months - just in time for back to
school.

For what it's worth, he seems to be eligible for a regular license now. 
The
suspension for the reckless homicide (amended to inattentive driving)
was 1
year, beginning 8/16/06
