While I agree that there _should_ be no difference in support of bicycling based on political affiliation, my experience on the PBMVC back in 2001 was quite an eye-opener. Alders Borchardt and Bellman definately held beliefs about the purpose of bicycling which made it harder to get good things done for bicycle commuters (like bike lanes on sherman). Both alders had no problem with recreational cycling. True, these are just two examples, but I'll bet if you take a look at Brett Davis' support of bicycling, it comes mostly in the recreational flavor.
