i usually support activist events, but my coworker today told me about the
fossil fuels action, where the air was let out of the tires of a bunch of
vehicles in university heights. this coworker rides the bus to work every
day. however, this morning he tried to use his car to take his kid to the
hospital, who was sick with a fever, and had to find other means of
transportation, because the tires on his car were flat. this is not cool.

what's also not cool, but is slightly less important, is the physical damage
to all the tires that were sitting on their rims. how much energy goes into
disposing of the damaged tires and buying new ones? does a single person
actually see a flat tire and then give up driving? i doubt it.

i don't know that anyone on this list would participate in something like
this, but i just want to beg for future plans: please, let's be proactive in
environmental activism, not damaging or hurtful.
