UW Transportation Services and the Hoofers Outdoor Recreation Clubs are proposing a bike station be included in the new Union South on the UW-Madison campus. The bike station would provide covered, secure bike parking, lockers, showers, biking supplies, etc. More information is available at http://bikestation.org/. A great facility to encourage more bicycle activity on campus.
We need your support to convince the Union Design Committee that the bike station should be built. The Design Committee meeting is Monday, April 7th 5-8pm in Memorial Union (check Today in the Union for the room number). Your support in favor of the bike station will demonstrate the demand for such facilities and encourage the Design Committee to include it in the final plans. If you are unable to attend, but would like to provide comments, feel free to pass those along to me, addressed to the Union Design Committee. Also, contact me if you have any questions.
