I rescued a bicycle from the condo dumpster that looks like it would make the perfect winter bike for me. It has 27 x 1 3/8s wheels. At the Willy Bikes sale this past weekend, I asked about 27 x 1 3/8 studded tires and was told that no one makes these because the wheel size is outdated.
Yes, the wheel size is outdated, but I can't be the only person in the country who wants to turn an old bike into a winter bike. Anyone know where to look for studded tires this size, or is my only option to create my own? (I know it would create a sense of empowerment to do so, but it would probably also cause a lot of flats, and the idea of removing my gloves to fix a flat in winter doesn't exactly appeal to me.)
