I was biking along the Wingra Creek path this evening (heading to Fish Hatchery Road to look at some herons' nests in the Arboretum) when an oncoming biker told me to look for "a beaver in the river."
Sure enough there was a beaver on the bank of the creek, over by that boathouse type building next to the skating lagoon. Pretty cool. Since it can't fly north (like those loons that visited last week) it should be with us for quite a while.
