High lake levels have overtopped the rock revetment along the bike path between the John Nolen Drive Bridge adjacent to the fishing pier. The shoreline is beginning to erode. Given the erodible fill materials in this area, the City Engineering Division asked for and received WDNR permission to place filter fabric and large boulder (2' in diameter or larger) to protect the shoreline, bikepath, and John Nolen Drive. Work shall commence on Friday Morning, June 13, 2008. We shall need to redirect pedestrians and bikes using the path. A press release will follow. Larry D. Nelson, P.E.
