Subject: [Bikies] New Starkweather Creek path

How far North does the new section of the Starkweather Creek path go from the new E. Washington Ave Ped overpass? Does it end at Commercial or Aberg or does it go all the way over Aberg and connect with the other bike path? If it doesn't yet connect to the rest of the Starkweather path, does anyone know when that might be completed?

The path ends at Commercial. The City of Madison has applied for Federal Transportation Enhancement funding for the last phase extending the path to Aberg with an overpass of Aberg connecting to the existing path to MATC. Because the MPO ranked it as the #1 project, it is very likely the project will get funded. If it does, the project is planned for construction in 2010.

Thank you, William.
I would like to elaborate a little bit.
Firstly, many thanks, again, to representative Tammy Baldwin, for the work involved in securing the federal funding for the new bridge across East Wash.. There has been much on-going public input into this proposed 2nd bridge across Aberg, which is intended to be of similar design to the new bridge across East Wash. Yes, the project is LIKELY to be funded. Many would like to see this link to MATC completed. Let's all hope the economy cooperates.
