Almost every kid I see on a bike has their helmet on wrong. Usually
the strap is loose and or it is angled too far back and does not
protect the forehead. I am sure many are the wrong size for them as
well. At best, 1 in 20 has the helmet adjusted correctly. Well
meaning parents put these on their kids, but they don't realize that
they provide little protection and may even be a danger to the child.
It wouldn't take much to knock the helmet off a kids head when it is a
size too big and the strap is not tight around the chin.
If you have kids or you have friends with kids, please be sure their
kids' noggins are well protected.
