One of the film crews at CMWC,(these guys) will be airing their documentary on
the Discovery Civilization channel in Canada.
The show is Tribes of the 21st Century and the "Tribe of the Bike Courier" airs
September 18, at 9pm ET, 10 PT.

Discovery Civilization Channel, is proud to announce the world premiere of the
documentary series, TRIBES OF THE 21ST CENTURY. This three part series explores
the complicated and often misunderstood world of 21st century tribes: the Tribe
of Stand Up Comics (airing September 4 at 9 p.m. ET/10 p.m. PT), the Tribe of
Bodybuilders (airing September 11 at 9 p.m. ET/10 p.m. PT) and the Tribe of
Bike Couriers (airing September 18 at 9 p.m. ET/10 p.m. PT).
Written by veteran journalist and award-winning writer Allen Abel, TRIBES OF
THE 21ST CENTURY is a documentary anthology series (3 x 60 min.) that takes an
in-depth look at different 'tribes' within our society: tight knit communities
that are defined by a shared occupation, interest, or habit. 'Tribes' that we
are not born into, but choose for ourselves. 'Tribes' that thrive on the
fringes of modern civilization.

Just like traditional tribes, TRIBES OF THE 21ST CENTURY are made up of elders,

Darren Frost, the foul-mouthed stand-up comic who battles hostile audiences at
comedy clubs across the country, as well as 'chieftains' Ron James and Russell
Peters. Matriarch Laura Binetti is Canada's highest ranked woman in the Tribe
of Bodybuilders. She trains neophytes in the tribe's elaborate rituals: the
extreme diet, tiny posing suits and spray-on tans.
Young John Michael, neophyte in the Tribe of Bike Couriers, struggles to stay
alive against Toronto's treacherous weather and angry drivers.
