NHTSA has just released a very comprehensive "National Survey of
Bicyclist and Pedestrian Attitudes and Behavior."
Unfortunately the actual data collection was done six years ago. But
nonetheless, some of the findings are quite interesting.
The NHTSA Web site is dumb not conducive to deep linking, so go to
http://www.nhtsa.gov/ and then to Traffic Safety, then Research &
Evaluation, then scroll way down to "National Survey of Bicyclist and
Pedestrian Attitudes and Behavior (Vols I, II, III)." Happy reading.
