As I posted a similar article from BBC a few days ago, I pondered if the
high quality of bicycles had something to do with the theft and
disregard. The specially built bicycles cost over $500 to build--net of
sales markups, even in such a great quantity. No doubt safeguards must
be thought out by the French and their mentality. Surprisingly, they
allowed half of the entire inventory to be stolen or wantonly destroyed
before bringing the program to a halt and back to the drawing board.
