I can't top that but I'll just add my own crash anecdote.

Two points of impact - head, shoulder.
The clavicle broke, and subsequently healed with little assistance and with
no obvious long-term disability.
The helmet got a dent. I was dazed, but otherwise OK.

Out of maybe 10,000 hours of riding over the past decade, I only really
needed my helmet once. But I'm pretty happy I was wearing it that one time.
