Another personal story, in the hopes that someone else doesn't make the same
mistake: Years ago, there was a stop sign that I ran on a regular basis,
because I rode the intersection every day, and no one was ever there. Then
one day someone was there. Driving a car. And the car was very close.
Fortunately, it ended only with me laying out my bike during a panic stop,
and no contact between the car and me.

Running stop signs is a bad habit. You get forget to look.
